Where are you on your Stairway to Heaven?

The last few years it has been a popular and true statement that JESUS is not about religion but relationship. This statement is true but thats not all there is! Salvation is like a stairway with many levels. When we give our hearts to the LORD JESUS, we begin climbing a sets of stairs that leads to our ultimate goal, heaven. Having a relationship with JESUS is just the first landing of that staircase and many of us just stay right there. Why would we do that? Because we do not know any better. Let me tell you something. JESUS wants so much more for us. He wants to fellowship with us! What! you say? YES, JESUS loves spending time with you, chatting with you, shopping with you, taking sunday drives with you, even watching tv and doing chores. Did you know that JESUS even wants to run errands with you and go to work with you? Huh? You say. YES, I say and so does HE.

Yes, GOD is GOD, HE is the superior being, and HE is the creator. Even so HE craves to spend time with you. Think about it, when you cook a wonderful meal, build a beautiful home, or landscape a gorgeous garden why do you do it? Do you do it because you wanna set it on a shelf and forget about it? Of course not, You create those beautiful things, places, and delicious meals because you want to enjoy them. How do you enjoy them? You spend time with them. You fellowship with them. That is the same reason GOD created you and me, FELLOWSHIP. Think about it; When GOD created Adam and Eve HE also created a beautiful garden for them to live in, care for, and where GOD HIMSELF walked in fellowship with them. Don’t believe me? Read it for yourself in Genesis 2:8 - 25.

GOD wants to build a wonderful relationship with you. How do we build relationships with others? We spend time with them, we get to know their likes and dislikes, we discover their personality. That is what GOD craves to have with us. HE craves a deep relationship that results in deep blessed fellowship. HE wants to laugh with you, cry with you, rejoice with you, help you make decisions, enjoy the fruits of your labors with you. HE LOVES YOU! Get beyond your stinking thinking that GOD is a distant GOD and realize HE is a very personal GOD.

GOD the FATHER wants to spend time with you. “GODs everywhere” you say and you are right but did you know that just because HE is in the same room with us does not mean HE is welcome in what you are doing. You see GOD will not invade your life, HE will not bull HIS way in. GOD is extremely polite and will not interfere or intercede on any part of your life that you do not welcome HIM into.

The Bible says to seek GODs face, thats the beginning of relationship. Press into HIM, delight yourself in HIM, thats fellowship. Invite GOD, JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT to participate in your life, invite HIM to spend time with you in your everyday activities and watch how much better you feel, how rewarded you are, and how nothing can steal your joy. So I leave you with this question; Where are you on your stairway to heaven?
