Our Damascus Road

Sometimes we get so excited that we begin running ahead of GOD. As Paul did when he received JESUS. You see Paul realized the truth and wanted nothing more than to shout it from the roof tops! He wanted everyone to come and relax in the MESSIAHs presence and experience the same wondrous joy that he (Paul) was experiencing. What he did not factor in was those people that he had grown up around; his friends, family, and peers, would not receive him or the wonderful message of the gospel from him, because they were still lost in his past. Pauls old friends, family, and peers could not see nor did they realize that he was anointed by GOD to preach the gospel of the good news, in fact they tried to kill him. (Acts 9)
This can happen to us when we finally surrender completely to GOD, allowing HIM to do the wondrous work within us that is HIS plan (Jeremiah 29:11). We get so excited that we begin to run ahead of GOD, sharing the glorious revelations HE shared with us to our CHRISTian friends, family, and peers. Then we become confused and hurt because they do not share in the joy and wonder. This really hurts and will cause us to back away and hide because of their reaction. This is a normal reaction. But do not back away into self, hiding in your pain. Back away into GOD and allow HIM to lead you and guide you, heal you and teach you. ABBA FATHER will prepare the way for you to share the glorious good news to those HE has prepared (Psalms 37:23).
Even still, remember those who did not receive, pray the LORD will bless them and draw them close. Keep in mind the LORD says “the prophet is not welcome in his own home.” (Luke 24:4) So just because your church family does not receive or recognize the anointing the LORD has placed on your life does not mean you do not have it. It just means they do not see it yet. Give GOD time to do a work in them. Wait patiently on HIS timing and watch what HE does! Pray for them, they are still lost in your past and need to let it go. You realize that you are no longer that person, for GOD has made you a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Wait for GOD to reveal the new creation to them.
